Howell Maurice Adkison , 74, of Center, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in San Augustine.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2024, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Watson & Sons Chapel. Bro. Grant Murphree and Ginia Hooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Center.
Born April 20, 1950, in Jasper, Texas, Howell is the son of Hollis Howell Adkison and Myrtle Maurice Adkison. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam during part of that time.
He is survived by his wife, Pamila Hooper Adkison of Center; sons, Brandon Heath Adkison of Nacogdoches and Clinton Howell Adkison and wife Anittra of Garrison; grandchildren, Leyonna Donyele Adkison, Brenton Howell Adkison, Austin Dean Adkison, Philip Ryan Adkison and wife Hali; great grandchildren, Wyatt Raynor-Storm Grenzebach and Pierce Howell Adkison; sister, Shirley DiVerdi and husband Vince; mother-in-law, Ann Hooper; and sister-in-law, Ginia Hooper; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Fannie Mae Adkison, Vernie Turner, and brothers Stephen Hollis Adkison and Terry Lynn Adkison and wife Jeannie; and father-in-law, Billy Wayne Hooper.
Pallbearers will be Brenton Howell Adkison, Austin Dean Adkison, Philip Ryan Adkison, Dillion Hooper, Terry Adkison Jr., and Chris Denby. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Mangrum.
