Helen Furlow , 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, in Center.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Strong Cemetery in Huxley with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Bro. Gordon Vaughn will officiate.

Born June 6, 1936, in Ignace, Ontario, Canada, Helen is the daughter of Samuel Kodak and Mary Finchook.  Her hobbies included fishing, reading, playing crossword puzzles, and scratch-off tickets. Helen was a member of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in Huxley.

She is survived by her son, Sammy Furlow of Huxley; daughter, Carrie Furlow; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Hugh Bozeman of Butler, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Eula Mae Furlow of Shelbyville, Janice Furlow of Huxley, and Mozell Scarborough of Pasadena; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by husband, Milton Furlow; parents, Samuel Kodak and Mary Finchook; and sister, Martha Lamaroux.

Pallbearers will be Mike Furlow, Richard Furlow, Steve Oswalt, Keith Oswalt, Mark O'Rear, and Skipper Hendricks.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Furlow and Harold Sabin.
