Gregory Peace Samford, 60, of Center, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Shelby Regional Medical Center. He was born May 29, 1949 in Center to Orban T. Samford and Christine Peace Samford. Mr. Samford played the piano for many singing groups and churches in Shelby County, and also played for the Shelby County Singing Convention. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Center.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 10th at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 10th at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Ron Luman and Bro. Henry Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Waterman Cemetery in Center.

Pallbearers will be Max Samford, Jr., Joshua Samford, Scott Wright, Joe Cline, Jeff Wright and Brandon Walker.
