Gordon Sanford McDonald , 82, of Carthage, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, in Carthage.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with Bro. David Holder officiating. Visitation will be held at Watson & Sons Funeral Home one hour prior to service time.

Mr. McDonald was born May 18, 1937, in Shelby County, to Luther James McDonald and Cassie Corene Snyder McDonald. He was the owner and operator of a machine shop. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling, and playing dominoes. Mr. McDonald was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia McDonald of Carthage; son, Darren McDonald of Dallas; grandchildren, Katy McDonald of Austin and Eilish McDonald of Dallas; brother and sisters, Howard McDonald of Houston, Gloria Jean Risinger of the Dunnigan Community of Shelby County, Belva Hoffman of Magnolia, and Garvis Rayborn of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Alicia McDonald; parents, Luther James McDonald and Cassie Corene Snyder McDonald; brothers, Marlon McDonald and Nolan McDonald; and sister, Bronice Curtis.
