Obituary

Gordon Davis Jr. AKA John , 50, of Lufkin, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, in Lufkin.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Sardis Cemetery in Shelby County with Bro. Don Noble officiating.  Visitation will be at Watson & Sons Funeral Home, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Born August 27, 1971, in Center, Gordon is the son of the late Joyce Ann Allums and Gordon Lamar Davis.  His love of driving and working on trucks made his log truck driving career enjoyable.  Fishing, hunting, and gardening were among his hobbies.  Gordon loved getting together with his family, sitting on the front porch drinking coffee, and feeding the squirrels.  He was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include sisters, Tammy Fields of Lufkin, Texas, Tina Davis of Center, Texas, and Rebecca Davis and John McCormick of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, Joey Davis and Sabrina of Pollok, Texas; nieces and nephews, Anthony Rice of Lufkin, Texas, Bryan Rice of Lufkin, Texas, Joshua Fields of Lufkin, Texas, Destiny Fields of Austin, Texas, Chance McCauley and Brittany Paul of Gatesville, Texas, Andrea Hefley and Dakota of Tenaha, Texas, Kelli Young of Center, Texas, Christian McCauley and Cheyenne of Center, Texas, Kara Griffin of Center, Texas, Hunter Griffin of Center, Texas, Ryan Dickerson of Joaquin, Texas, Brenda Baker of Pollok, Texas, Miranda Davis of Big Spring, Texas, Zachary Proctor of Big Spring, Texas, Dustin Davis of Nacogdoches, Texas; 11 great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife, Paula Davis; father, Gordon Davis; mother, Joyce Davis; brother, James Davis; nephew, T-man Davis; and both sets of grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Chance McCauley, Daniel Pina, Dakota Hefley, Ryan Dickerson, Brenden Baker, and Christian McCauley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Bennett, John McCormick, and Bryan Rice.
