Memorial service for Fredrick Clyde Bryan , age 87, of Center, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, at the Center United Pentecostal Church Fellowship Hall (old church) officiated by Charles Geuin.

Clyde was born January 9, 1931, in San Augustine County at White City to Jefferson Bryan and Loda Lee (Gregory) Bryan.

At the age of 18, Clyde joined the Army Air Corp. Shortly before discharge, he married Anna Laura Hixanbaugh and remained married for 60 years. They had four children: Fred, Judi, Don and John Bryan.

After discharge, he worked as a pipe liner, lumberjack in Oregon, explosive expert, and for 26 years was a boiler maker. He retired to Center, Texas, close to his home town of Broaddus. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening and studying the Bible.

He is survived by his daughter, Judi and husband John Michael Carpenter of Broadalbin, N.Y.; son, John Bryan and wife Teresa of Kelso, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Hedrick Bryan, Gerald Dwain Bryan and wife Bonney Marie, Lloyd Bryan and wife Lois, Jefferson Ray Bryan, William Marion Bryan; sisters, Dessie Christian Cowan and husband Howell, Armatha Sue Amore.

He is preceded in death by wife, Anna Laura; sons, Fred and Don; granddaughter, Cassie Bryan; parents, Jefferson and Loda Bryan; brothers, Ray, Marion and Arthur; sisters, Mary Ann Bryan and Armatha Amore.
