Fred Wilburn Spurlock, 90, of Paxton, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He was born October 19, 1919 in the Paxton Community of Shelby County, Texas to William M. Spurlock and Mary Jane May Spurlock. He served in the US Army from 1942 - 1946. Mr. Spurlock was on the Tenaha ISD School Board for 13 years, and on the Paxton Water Supply Board from 1966 - 2005. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ in Tenaha.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Aubrey King officiating. interment will be in The Old Home Cemetery in Shelby County.
Pallbearers will be Eric Spurlock, Bradley Wilburn, Steven Eaves, Tom Watkins, Robert Barton, and Ron Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Grein and Don Watkins.
