Rev. Felix Windham, 91, of Joaquin, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Pine Grove Nursing Center. He was born May 12, 1918 in Shelby County to Jarrett Jackson Windham and Carrie Moody Windham. Rev. Windham pastored several churches in Shelby and San Augustine counties, including Hawthorne, Old Home, Pine Ridge, Mt. Horeb and several others. He, along with Walker Ledford and J. Carroll Chadwick formed a mission of Firsh Baptist Center at Jarrett Windham's house in 1959, later moving the church to Haslam, where it later became First Baptist Church Haslam. Rev. Windham was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Joaquin.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Rev. Paul Silvey and Rev. Welton Blackman officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
