Elvin Smith Permenter, age 84 of Center, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1925 in Center to John B. Permenter and Annie Laurie Alvis Permenter. Mr. Permenter was a member of First United Methodist Church of Center.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 12, 2010 at The First United Methodist Church in Center with Rev. Carol Turner and Rev. Greg McGill officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Pallbearers will be Tim Kramer, Tom Kramer, Rick Strebeck, Michael Collum, David Milner, Steven Milner, Adam Meech and Ryan Meech. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Bill Ginn, W.I Davis, Dr. Bob Clifford, Billy Bob Thomason, Kenneth Hardy, Billy Rodgers, Ronald Morse, Clay Krueger, Jack Harris, and John Griffin
