Edna Ruth Luther Bailey , 88, of Joaquin, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in Joaquin.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Neuville Cemetery in Shelby County with Dr. Donald Ward officiating.

Born October 3, 1931, Ruth is the daughter of the late Herbert Cyrus Luther and Mary Etta Rawlins Luther. She retired from teaching after over 40 years. In her free time, she loved sewing. Ruth was a member of United Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Elbert D. Bailey of Joaquin; daughters, Kathryn Boehm and husband Leonard of Joaquin and Gladys Andrews and husband Rickey of Center; grandchildren, Shanna Andrews Pigott and husband James of Cypress, Jessica Gurley and husband Mac of Center, and Shawn Lonergan of Joaquin; 5 nieces; 1 nephew; numerous other family members; and a host of friends.

Preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Mary Rawlins Luther; sisters, Aline Luther Edwards and Mary Frances Thaxton; and brother-in-law, Fred Thaxton.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Bailey, Richard Bailey, Rickey Andrews, Jimmy Stewart, Shawn Lonergan, and Leonard Boehm.
