Nov 2, 1937 — Sep 6, 2012
Eddie Miller
, 74, passed from this life on the morning of September 6th following a courageous five-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on November 2, 1937 in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Joaquin High School in 1956, Eddie proudly served in the Army while stationed in New Jersey. He moved back to Joaquin following his service, and in 1959, he met the love of his life, Jeanne Caroline Parrish. They were married on April 9th, 1960 and after 52 years, were still deeply in love. They were blessed with three sons whom Eddie loved deeply. He retired from Chevron in 1999 and later contracted with British Petroleum until 2009. He served on the Joaquin I.S.D. school board for nine years and was president for several years.
Everyone who knew Eddie remembers the sparkle in his eyes and the smile on his face. He will be missed for many things, among them his sense of humor and ready laughter, his ability to live every day to the fullest, and his pride in and love for his family, his friends, and his God. He was a member of Jackson Baptist Church where he served as song leader for many years. He loved singing for his church family and particularly enjoyed having the youth participate in his song service.
