Eddie Ray Barnes , 81, of Center, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Tyler.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2022, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Watson & Sons Chapel with L.D. Eddins officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Shelby County.

Born October 13, 1940, Eddie Ray is the son of Nelly Mae Dailey and Joseph James Barnes.  He most recently worked for Texas Forest Service. Eddie Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of Mt. Herman Church of Christ in Center.

Survivors include wife, Jackie Barnes of Center; daughters, Sonya Barnes Hughes and Lisa Gay Barnes; brother, Luther Barnes.

Preceded in death by parents, Nelly Mae Dailey and Joseph James Barnes; brothers, Raymond Barnes, James Barnes, and Virgil Barnes; sister, Audris Reynolds; and son-in-law, Gene Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Lee Sowell, Randy Bohannon, Randy Latham, Ronnie Youngblood, Trey Barnes, and Hunter Walker.  Honorary pallbearers will be R.O. Porterfield, Billy Jeans, Andy Hampton, Gene Bradshaw, Buddy Sowell, Randy Alford.
