Obituary

Eddie Bailey , 83, of Tenaha, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in Center.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Tenaha.  A military honors graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Tennessee Cemetery with Bro. John Whitworth officiating.

Mr. Bailey was born August 22, 1935, in Haskell, Oklahoma, to Norman Bailey and Mae Criner Bailey.  He served in the United States Air Force, where he retired as Senior Master Sargent after 28 years of service.  He was devoted to serving his family and community.  Mr. Bailey was proud to help wherever he was needed and was well known as "the voice of Tenaha Tiger football".  His favorite moments were those spent with his family, all of whom he dearly loved.  Mr. Bailey was a member of First Baptist Church in Tenaha, Tenaha Business Men's Club, and the Child Welfare Board in Center.

He is survived by
Wife of 61 years: Doyce Bailey of Tenaha

Daughter: LaRaye Bailey of Tenaha

Like a Daughter: Erin Johnson of Carthage

Grand dog: Hercules Bailey

Justin Simons and Sarah Wilson of Splendora

Sister-in-law: Karen Cruse and husband, Glen, of St. Louis, Missouri

Brother-in-law: William "Bo" Morris of Tenaha

Special Family: Charles and Sharon Pollard of Livingston

Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Parents: Norman Bailey and Mae Criner Bailey
Sisters: Norma Wilbourn, Peggy Langford
