Dorothy Davis Bowles , 91, passed away on May 8, 2013, at Cypress Glen Nursing Facility in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born in Shelby County on August 15, 1921, to Abner and Mary Brittain Doggett.

Mrs. Bowles is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Vance Davis, her second husband, Wesley Bowles, her brother, Prentice Doggett, her sister, Sybil Doggett Alford and her son, Donald Davis. She is survived by her son Rusty Davis and wife, Pat, of Port Neches, Texas, her grandchildren, John Davis and wife, Kim, of Center; Audra Davis of Port Arthur, Texas, Donna Davis Hall and husband, Lee, of League City, Texas, Thad Davis and partner Danna Elder of Vidor, Texas, Sean Davis of Joaquin, Vance Davis and wife Anna of Mauriceville, Texas and Brittainy Davis of Key West, Florida, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. A graveside service will be held at Rather Cemetery in Hurstown, Texas, at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 with Rev. Joel McMahon of First United Methodist Church officiating.
