Dorothey Blount, 87, of Joaquin, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tenaha on October 29, 1924 to John Grady McKnight and Lillian Elizabeth Coats McKnight. Mrs. Blount was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Sister Melba Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin.
Pallbearers will be James Alvis, Roy Cheatwood, Ike Cummings, Rodney Dean, Newton Johnson and Tommy Spurlock. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Cockrell and Ricky Wiggins.
