Doris Jean Cockrell , 87, of Center, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in Center.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Sand Hill Cemetery in Shelby County.  Bro. Harold Hanson and Bro. Harold Dement will officiate.

Born March 26, 1933, in Longstreet, Louisiana, Doris is the daughter of the late Alton Bryant Mosley and Lillie Pearl Golden Mosley.  Both a homemaker and an artist, she gave art lessons and served as Director of Poultry Festival Art Show from the beginning until the early 2000's.  Doris was a member of Fulsom Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  She taught Sunday school at Fulsom Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Clever Creek Baptist Church for over 40 years.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Delbert Cockrell; children, Bryan Cockrell and wife Deidra and Debra Lunsford and husband Mike; grandchildren, Kelly Berry and husband Steven, Wendy Justus and husband Levi, Andy Cockrell and wife Bridgett, and Ben Cockrell and wife Grace; great grandchildren, Wesley Berry and fiancé Kaitlin, Hunter Berry and fiancé Chesnee, Lexi Berry and fiancé Luke, Dylan Robbins, Baylee Robbins, Clay Cockrell, Kade Justus, Dusty Cockrell, and Allyson Cockrell; special nephews, Johnny Cockrell and Charles Ray Cockrell.

Preceded in death by her parents, Alton Bryant Mosley and Lillie Pearl Golden Mosley; and brothers, Billy Ray Mosley, Bobby Mosley, and Don Mosley.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Berry, Hunter Berry, Luke Williams, Dylan Robbins, Andy Cockrell, Ben Cockrell, and Johnny Cockrell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Berry, Levi Justus, and Charles Ray Cockrell.
