Dessie L. Smith Burkett Kale , 87, of Joaquin, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Shelby Regional Medical Center in Center. She was born September 16, 1925 in Joaquin to Raymond Race Smith and Pearl Thorn Smith. She was employed at Joaquin ISD for 15 years and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012 at Word of Faith Outreach Center in Joaquin.
