Delores was born February 6, 1946, at home in Shelby County, to Junior Brown and Buna Rachel Bailey Addison. Delores graduated from Joaquin High School and soon married Bobby Joe Fountain, Sr. After being stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas for a couple of years, they returned to Center, Texas. Here, they raised their family, worked, and enjoyed life. What a testimony she lived out. Her life was a perfect example of what a Christian should be. She never saw herself as better or above anyone - that is humility. She always chose to let go of anger or resentment, even to those who had done her wrong - that is forgiveness. She was gentle and patient at all times in all situations - that is meekness. Never would you find her in a situation that she gave up hope. She always believed in those around her, saw the diamond in the rough and was willing to give them space to become what they were called to be - that is patience. Her heart and home were always open to those around and passing through. Whether you were family, a friend, or just an acquaintance - you were welcomed in - that is love. Our granny became Granny to others, because they were family and her heart had room for everyone. She loved God and her church family. She was happiest when working in the kingdom of God. If the call was given, she was there to answer the call, no matter how big or small the task. We will miss her…but our lives will forever be changed…because she loved us.
