David Wayne Whitlock , 73, of Center, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Center.

His wishes were to be cremated and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Born May 3, 1952, in Center, David is the son of Winifred "Windy" Whitlock and Daphine Slatter Whitlock.  He volunteered at the Shelby County Historical Society Museum and Library.  His hobbies included genealogy and astrology.

He is survived by his children, Celeste Atmar of Silsbee, Jon Whitlock of San Antonio, and Sam Pryor of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jaden Montoya of Silsbee, Lilly Montoya of China, Dominic Montoya of Silsbee, Zelda Pryor of Beaumont, and Fiona Pryor of Beaumont; aunt, Peaches Conway of Center; and brother, George Whitlock of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Preceded in death by his parents, Winifred "Windy" Whitlock and Daphine Slatter Whitlock.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shelby County Historical Society Museum and Library.
