David Junior Boyd , 81, of Center, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Nacogdoches.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Jeff Story and Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born July 24, 1944, in Timpson, David is the son of D. B. Boyd and Maurine Farmer Boyd.  He served in the United States Marine Corps, where he received two purple hearts.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, raising cattle, and spoiling his grandchildren.  David was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Center. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Yates Boyd of Center; children, Michael David Boyd and wife Jamye Matthews Boyd of Center and Jennifer Ann Boyd Mulch and husband Christopher Mulch of Naples; grandchildren, Hannah Brooke Mulch, Cody Maska Mulch, Thomas Christopher Mulch and Camila, Zachery David Mulch and Reagan AKA Brittany, Abbigail Taylor Mulch, Gracie LeAnn Boyd, and Addison Kay Boyd; sisters, Charlotte Boyd Scruggs of Joaquin and Freida Boyd Parker and husband Charles Ray of Joaquin; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Yates and Betty Trant; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, D. B. Boyd and Maurine Farmer Boyd; brother, Steve Boyd; and sister, Bobbie Jean Boyd.

Pallbearers will be Cody Mulch, Greg Neal, Thomas Mulch, Sam Neal, Zachery Mulch, L.T. Scruggs, Kevin Parker, and Christopher Boyd.
