Obituary

Chad Everett Smith, 50, of Joaquin, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, with visitation beginning at noon. Bro. Luke Garrett and Bro. Haagon Lister will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Born March 17, 1976, Chad was the son of Debbie White Phillips and a graduate of Joaquin High School. A jack of all trades, he was a hard worker who could do just about anything. Most recently, he worked in the oilfield and construction industries. Wherever Chad worked, he was well-liked and made friends easily. He was always willing to lend a hand.

When he wasn’t working, Chad enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Above all, family was especially important to him. He cherished time with his loved ones and treasured the memories they made together.

Chad took special pride in being a dad to his three girls, Caroline, Callyn, and Colbee. He was incredibly proud of each of them and loved watching them grow. He and his wife, Haley, shared a life and family filled with love, laughter, and moments their family will always hold close.

Chad attended Word of Faith Outreach Center in Joaquin.
