Carol Spruiell
, of Shelbyville, devoted mother,
grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, March 28,
2013 in Marble Falls at the age of 69. Carol was born August 2, 1943 in
Panhandle, Texas to John McCrary and Mae Celestine Sanders Weeks. She moved to
Shelbyville from Marble Falls, Texas in 1996. Carol grew up and attended school
in Quanah, Texas. She married J. C. Spruiell on March 3, 1967 in Brownwood.
Carol was employed as realtor at Coldwell Banker in Odessa for 12 years and
retired to Marble Falls and then Shelbyville. She served in in the
Joaquin Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Pleasant
Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and enjoyed her children
and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C.; son
Timothy Brian; parents, John McCrary and Mae Celestine Sanders Weeks;
stepfather Lawrence Weeks, and a brother, Don Weeks.
Those left to mourn her passing include her son Jesse
and wife Shelli Spruiell of Marble Falls; stepdaughter Jan and husband Ted
Currington of Shallowater; six grandchildren: U.S. Army Specialist Justin
Spruiell and wife Kristin, U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Corky Spruiell and
wife Marci, Randall Spruiell, Landon Spruiell, Christi and husband Matt Reed,
Chad and wife Ann Currington, six great-grandchildren: Cale Spruiell, Layton
and Kyler Reed, and Brylee, Brinley, and Bristyn Currington; two brothers
Sidney Weeks of Altus, Oklahoma and Troy of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and several
nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with
Bro. Bobby Warr officiating. Graveside memorial will follow at Strong Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. at
Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center.
