Burton R. Garmany, age 75, of Houston, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his home. He was born May 13, 1934 in Logansport, Louisiana to Ernest L. Garmany and Cecile Brown Garmany. He retired from Gulf Oil Company where he worked as Comptroller of Korea Gulf. For the last ten years, Mr. Garmany taught in the accounting department of San Jacinto College. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Logansport, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Thursday, November, 5, 2009 at the First Methodist Church in Logansport, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Kemper Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookland Cemetery in Haslam.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Hamon, Porter Dowling, Jackie Averett, Rex Clark, Burton Brown, King Vidler, Larry Bagley and John Garmany. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronald McBride, Donald McBride, Charles Woods, Jerry Dickinson, Allen Riley and the members of First Methodist Choir.
