Brenda Sowell, 69, of Center, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, in Center.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.

Born March 1, 1957, in Mississippi, Brenda is the daughter of John Franklin Brittain and Ethel Langston Brittain.

She is survived by her son, John Prosser and fiancé Sylvia Valdez of Center; grandchildren, Cierra Prosser of Buna and Jadyn Prosser of Nacogdoches; great grandchild, Remington Prosser of Nacogdoches; stepchildren, Michael Sowell and wife Pam of Center and Sandy Mitchell and husband Curtis of Vidor; step grandchildren, Bradley Byers of Vidor, Tommy Byers of Vidor, Naomi and James Journey of Vidor, Jake and Kalie Mitchell of Vidor, Sharon Mitchell of Vidor, Ashley and Chase Hutto, and Michael Ray Sowell; step great grandchild, Avery Hutto; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members; and special friend, Brenda Askew.

Preceded in death by husband, Marvin Sowell; parents, John Franklin Brittain and Ethel Langston Brittain; and siblings, James Brittain, Jack Brittain, Robert Brittain, Linda Brittain, and Gary Brittain.
