Bill F. Griffin, Jr., 81, of Tenaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Marian Place in Carthage, Texas. He was born January 2, 1931, in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas, to Bill F. Griffin, Sr. and Rena Belle Rice Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tenaha, Texas, where he served as a deacon and taught the Men's Bible Class for over 18 years. He graduated from South Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas, and practiced law in Shelby County, Texas, for 50 years. He was a Fellow of the State Bar Foundation and a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2012, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Tenaha, Texas, with Pastor Russ Atwood officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Union Cemetery in Tenaha, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lyndell Hairgrove Griffin, of Tenaha, Texas; sons, Guy W. Griffin and wife, Cindy Davis Griffin, of Center, Texas, John D. Griffin of Center, Texas; daughter, Cindy A. Griffin, of Center, Texas; grandchildren, Patrick Davis Griffin and wife, Kasey Griffin, of Dallas, Texas, and Kelly Michelle Griffin of Nacogdoches, Texas; great grandchildren, Justin Bobbitt and Jason Bobbitt; sister, Lonnie Ruth Stone and husband, Travis Eugene Stone, of Lufkin, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill F. Griffin, Sr. and Rena Belle Rice Griffin; and his sister, Jeannine Griffin Campbell Goodpaster.
