Bettie Joyce Pitman Weeks , 84, passed away on March 11, 2024 in Center, Texas.

She was born to Thomas Benjamin Pitman, Sr. and Josephine Elizabeth Jenkins on February 29, 1940 in Dallas, Texas.

She married the late Tribble Jerry Weeks on December 9, 1972, and they lived together in Joaquin.  Bettie is survived by her son Jackie Leon Brown, Jr. and his wife Deborah Permenter Brown of Arlington, Texas.  She was predeceased by her loving husband in 2000, her brother Thomas B. Pitman, Jr. and her son James Randall Brown.

Bettie was the first baby born on that Leap year and was recognized in an article by the Dallas paper.  She had many friends and often claimed a few were her children, too.  For most of her life she worked as a business administrator and enjoyed the many people she met through her work.

There will be a graveside service Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lone Cedar Cemetery.
