Bessie Locke Christian, 103, of Houston, formerly of Shelby County, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Houston. She was born in Shelby County on October 19, 1908 to John Locke and Mattie Higginbotham Locke. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Christian lived a long and healthy life and was at peace with The Lord when she passed.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Tenaha.
