Berta Babek, 93, of Tenaha, passed away January 9, 2013, resting comfortably.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2013 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12th at First Baptist Church, Tenaha, Texas, followed by graveside services at Ramah Baptist Church.

She was born May 31, 1919, in Cisco, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son Lamoin and her daughter Patricia.  She is survived by her daughter Terry Woodruff and son-in-law Richard; her two grandsons, Stephen Brown, and Spencer Brown and his wife, Rebecca; two great grandchildren, David and Sarah; and two great-great grandchildren, Jayden and Payton.

She has been a resident of Tenaha for over 50 years and was well known for her chocolate chip cookies, which she often delivered to brighten peoples' days. Berta tried to make every person she met feel like a friend. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family and friends.
