Bernita English Payne , 89, of Laplace, Louisiana, passed away October 6, 2012 at her daughter's residence. She was born May 16, 1923 in Shelby County to Albert English and Ruthie Raymond English. Mrs. Payne was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Shelbyville. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Warr officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
