Ben Hooker , 76, of Tenaha, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 19, 1936 in Tenaha to Marvin Hooker and Dixie Ruth Parker Hooker. Mr. Hooker retired to ranching from Huntsville ISD, where he served as football coach and school administrator. He was a member of the Sam Houston State University Letterman's Club, the Tenaha Businessmen's Club and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Hooker was also part of the Sam Houston State University Hall of Honor and Tenaha High School Hall of Honor. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tenaha.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Tenaha with Bro. Russ Atwood officiating. Interment will follow at Woods Cemetery in Panola County.

Pallbearers will be Brack Harrison, Johnny Harrington, Mitch Norton, Mitch Menefee, Drew Scull, David Smith, Ben Dial, Keith Martin and Jeff Weisner.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Sam Houston State University 1956 Football Team, Dave Harrell, Bill Willis, Joe Hollis, Royce Perry, John Harrington, Johnny Marvin Walker, Weldon Duncan, John Scull, Chuck Roberson and Keith Wieneke.
