Avis Brittain Moss, 70, of Joaquin, passed away February 5, 2012 in Nacogdoches. She was born June 7, 1941 in Shelby County to John Willis Brittain and Tennie Buckley Brittain. Mrs. Moss was a member of First Methodist Church in Joaquin, where she served as a pianist.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Strong Cemetery in Center with Bro. Randy Smith and Bro. Russell Duplantis presiding.

Pallbearers will be Davis A. Brittain, Lane McDonald, Johnny Brittain, Ronny Brittain, Harrell Guidry, William Guidry, Adrian "Big A" Cain and Landon McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Dent, Kenny Dent, Billy Hearnsberger, P.H. Newton, Tommy Miller, Frank Jousan, Jason Gill, Bill Skinner, Mike Wood, Glenn Gill and Sammy O'Rear.
