Ann Octavia Hudspeth Richardson
, 89, of Fort Worth, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Granbury Care Center in Granbury.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Interment will be held at Old Sardis Cemetery in San Augustine County.
Ann was born in 1924 in San Augustine County, to Bruce Hudspeth and Benina Lane Hudspeth. As a young adult, she supported the WWII War Effort by working as a Class A welder and inspector of torpedo hulls and rivets on the beams of the Great Liberty Ships in the Houston Ship Channel. She was a receptionist for Rick and Jay's Beauty Salon in Midland and a sales person and trainer for Dillards and Stripling and Cox of Fort Worth. Ann was a member and Sunday school teacher of the Midland First Baptist Church for many years. Dr. L. L. Morriss was the Pastor there at the time. Ann was also a member of Phi Sigma Alpha and the BPW USA National Federation of Professional Business Women's Associations. In her later life, she lived for a few years in Frankston, Texas. Our mother was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caring friend.
